The Chambers Guest Speaker is Attorney Lynn Dunlap to discuss the topic of Employer Support for the National Guard & Army Reserve.
The ESGR is a Department of Defense volunteer entity. Its function is to foster a better relationship between civilian employers and part-time military personnel.
The Guard and Reserve account for more than half of our military strentgth. This is easily shown when we consider that in the recent past, numerous Guard units have been activated for Iraq and Afghanistan. The 116 Cav Brigade from Idaho, Oregon and Montana was utilized in 2005 and again 2010.
With such a demand on the National Guard and Reserve units it is vital that the military have a good working relationship with the civilian employers who support our troops. Without full time civilian employment our national defense would be jeopardized on a continual basis.
The DOD, via the ESGR, wants to salute its military personnel civilian employers, thank them for their assistance, and publically acknowledge appreciation for their significant contribution to our Nation’s Defense, and our military’s continuing well being.
